Learn MoreAuction, trade, or traditional used equipment sales. As a partnership of Cat dealers, Cat Auction Services is your one stop for selling your surplus equipment.
Learn MoreFor on-site bidders, Cat Auction Services does not charge a buyer's premium. However, there is a 10% handling fee on lots selling for $2500 or less. This covers the cost of the extra staff and equipment we have on site to help customers load these small items.
For online bidders, Cat Auction Services charges a 2% buyers premium.
Because we video all of our equipment and display it on our giant LEADERBOARD®, both on-site equipment and equipment being sold virtually blend seamlessly during the auction, allowing us to sell your equipment conveniently in any auction and from any location in the world. Inspection reports on each machine give buyers the information they need to bid with confidence even if they haven't seen it in person.
A letter of credit is a letter from your bank verifying funds for the auction. It should be on your bank's letterhead, addressed to Cat Auction Services. The letter should include the following sentence or information:
"[Bank name] will honor or guarantee funds of to [$ dollar amount] for [name, business name] at the [auction location] auction on [date of auction]."
Sure, registering for an online account allows you to bid online, but there are so many great features to help you with your equipment buying needs.
You can save searches, so even if the item you are looking for hasn't been consigned or we only have a couple, you will be emailed when new equipment is added that matches your search.
You can flag equipment you are interested in to be "watched" so it is easier to find when you return to the site. Waiting for more photos or an inspection report to be posted before the sale? Have the list of equipment you are interested in available with one click instead of having to find it all again.
Buying history is available to those with online accounts. You can see what you purchased when and request new invoices.
Registered accounts also stay in the know with emails about upcoming auctions so you never miss a sale.
